Soft
The entry is rounded rather than hot. At 52% the alcohol is present, but the first impression is texture, not burn.
The house bottle · 金陵年30
金陵年三十 · 52度 · 纯粮酿造 · 绵柔浓香
A 52% pure-grain strong-aroma baijiu from the Suqian mianrou belt — five grains, old-cellar fermentation, and a finish built to be soft, not sharp.
Full disclosure: this is our own label. Read this page as a product sheet, not as an independent review — the same standards we apply to every bottle in the database are stated below, including what we will not claim.
Why it tastes soft
Most strong-aroma baijiu is judged on intensity. Jinling Nian 30 is built the other way: keep the aroma, lose the edge. Three things do the work.
The back label lists water, sorghum, wheat, barley and peas — the Suqian "five-grain" formula, with water counted as one of the five. Sorghum carries the body, wheat and barley build the qu, peas round the texture.
Fermented in aged mud pits, the environment that defines strong aroma. Pit age and management shape the fruity, cellar-led character of the style.
Rested in clay jars before bottling so the heat settles and the texture rounds out. Softness here is a production decision, not a marketing word.

The bottle, in motion
A short film cut from the product photography: the bottle, the seal, the back label, the box, the print sheet. Nothing appears here that is not on the shelf.
Tasting notes
Mianrou is usually described with four characters. Here is what each one means when you actually pour it.
The entry is rounded rather than hot. At 52% the alcohol is present, but the first impression is texture, not burn.
Clean grain sweetness up front — cooked sorghum and rice rather than sugar or syrup.
A short, dry finish with no sticky aftertaste. This is the mianrou signature: it clears the palate for the next bite.
Cellar fruit and baked grain on the nose, with a light floral lift instead of heavy ester weight.
From Suqian, Jiangsu
Northern Jiangsu is the core production area for mianrou-style strong aroma: warm, humid, and built around long fermentation cycles. Jinling Nian 30 is made there, under the strong-aroma national standard, from a five-grain formula — water, sorghum, wheat, barley, peas.
Sorghum, wheat, barley and peas, fermented with a solid qu starter — solid-state throughout.
Aged pits supply the microbial community behind the fruity, cellar-led nose.
Steam separates the spirit from fermented grain without stripping aroma.
Time in clay rounds the heat and builds the soft entry the style is named for.
Packaging
Deep green and gold, with the 金陵年30 calligraphy seal. Bottle, rigid gift box, and carry bag are designed as one set.

Read the label
Transcribed from the retail box, not from a press release. Photograph the back of any bottle you are offered and compare it line by line — this is the same check we run on every listing in the database.
Solid-state fermented — the process that excludes blended edible alcohol.
Strong aroma. The style this site indexes by first.
Water, sorghum, wheat, barley, peas. No rice, no corn — check this against any listing that claims otherwise.
The strong-aroma national standard, grade "excellent" (优级).
Food production licence. Ask any seller for this number before a case order.
Suqian, Jiangsu — the mianrou belt.
The bottling plant. Printed on every box, not hidden behind a brand name.
What the label does not say. No age statement, no vintage, no health claim. “Nian 30” is the product line name; the production date and batch number are printed on the outer box — check them before you buy, the same way you would for any bottle on this site.

At the table
A soft 52% strong aroma is a banquet spirit. Small cups, room temperature, and dishes with salt, soy, and fat.

FAQ
What buyers ask before a case order — including the one we will not spin.
Nian 30 is the product line name on the label. If you need an age statement for gifting or resale, ask for the batch certificate rather than relying on the name — that is the same rule we apply to every bottle in our database.
Mianrou describes texture: a soft, rounded entry and a clean finish rather than a sharp alcohol hit. It is a style associated with the Suqian / Yanghe belt in northern Jiangsu, where Jinling Nian 30 is produced.
Small pours at room temperature, in a porcelain cup or a small tulip glass. Serve it with food — braised dishes, salt-baked chicken, river fish, or anything with soy and spice. It is not a shot spirit.
Yes. The label states pure-grain brewing (纯粮酿造) under the strong-aroma national standard GB/T 10781.1, which does not permit the edible-alcohol blending used in lower-tier products.
